Please join the PFMC for a lecture by Laura Stamm on "Looking through Infected Eyes: Living with AIDS in the Queer Present."

Laura Stamm is a doctoral candidate in Film and Media Studies and English. She holds in a BA in Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies from Grinnell College. Her dissertation examines the discourses of health, crisis, and personal narrative that consolidated during the AIDS crisis of the 1980s and 1990s and shaped queer activists’ and artists’ response to the pandemic. Laura is the recipient of the Andrew Mellon Predoctoral Fellowship (2017-2018). She has taught the following courses: "Seminar in Composition," "Seminar in Composition: Film," "Film Analysis," "Introduction to Film," and "Introduction to Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies."
