Spectacles Film Series: Kumare

February 22, 2018 - 7:00pm

Frick Fine Arts Auditorium

Join Spectacles: The Film Series for a special screening of Kumare, introduced by Dr. Clark Chilson and Dr. Paula Kane (Religious Studies).  This ethnographic documentary follows an Indian American man who creates a persona and lives as the guru, “Kumare.” Traveling across the United States, Kumare encounters the complexity of spiritual healing.

Once a month, Spectacles invites religious studies, cultural studies, and film studies enthusiasts to join together and watch a movie with religious themes. Afterwards, religious studies majors will lead an open discussion about the movie. And of course, there will be movie snacks!
