Spectacles Film Series: A Serious Man

January 17, 2018 - 7:00pm

Room 407 Cathedral of Learning

Join Spectacles: The Film Series for a special screening of A Serious Man, introduced by Rio Maropis with post-film discussion led by Sarah Koros and Kenneth Wahrenberger.  A Coen Brothers classic, this drama reinterprets the Book of Job in a modern context.  Following the story of a Jewish family in the 1960s, A Serious Man deals with the spiritual questions of tragedy.

Once a month, Spectacles invites religious studies, cultural studies, and film studies enthusiasts to join together and watch a movie with religious themes. Afterwards, religious studies majors will lead an open discussion about the movie. And of course, there will be snacks!
