- The Society for Cinema and Media Studies (SCMS) offers registration fee waivers and travel grants to encourage grad students and non-tenure-stream faculty to attend their annual conference.
- SCMS also supports grads with an annual Student Writng Award and Dissertation Award.
- The National Endowment for the Humanities offers a number of grants for institutions and individual scholars.
- The Princess Grace Film Awards provide grants for the completion of a student's thesis film.
