Adam Hebert is a PhD candidate at the University of Pittsburgh. He holds an MA in Film Studies from NC State University and a BA in Cinematography from Emerson College. He also has experience working in Hollywood, both on set and as a Pre-Mastering Technician for Technicolor. His dissertation examines the interplay between sporting bodies, media technologies, and cinematic style, and his research interests include street-skateboard filmmaking, media archaeology, and radical empiricism. His work has been published in The Velvet Light Trap and The Cine-Files.
