Nancy Condee

Nancy Condee is Professor of Slavic and Film Studies at the University of Pittsburgh. Her recent publications include Cinemasaurus: Recent Russian Film in Contemporary Context (ed. with Alexander and Lena Prokhorov; Academic Studies Press 2019); The Cinema of Alexander Sokurov (ed. with Birgit Beumers; I.B. Tauris, 2011); Imperial Trace: Recent Russian Cinema (Oxford 2009); and Antinomies of Art and Culture: Modernity, Postmodernity, Contemporaneity (ed. with Terry Smith and Okwui Enwezor; Duke 2008).

She has worked as a consultant for the Edinburgh Film Festival, the Library of Congress, and Public Broadcasting for several Frontline documentaries and was Executive Producer for a CD-Rom database on Russian cinema, Kino ottepeli (Cinema of the Thaw, 2002).  At the University of Pittsburgh she is director of the Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies, one of twelve US Title VI National Resource Centers funded by the U.S. Department of Education.
