Will Zavala is a filmmaker specializing in documentary. His films have screened in festivals nationally and internationally, broadcast regionally, distributed commercially, and used in educational settings. In 2006, he founded the Documentary Salon, a film society, and has conducted it monthly since then. He was on faculty at the Pittsburgh Filmmakers School from 2005 to 2018, and joined the University of Pittsburgh in 2018. A native of California, Will received a BA in Psychology from UC Santa Cruz, and an MA in Communication from Stanford University in 1998, where his thesis film Drawbridge won a national Student Emmy Award.
